ADAMS, Richard. The Plague Dogs (signed)

£45.00

ADAMS, Richard. The Plague Dogs. London: Allen Lane. 1977. 8vo. First edition. Adams’ fantastic tale of two anthropomorphised dogs who escape a gruesome animal testing facility with the help of a wily Geordie fox. Inscribed by Adams to the front endpaper, ‘to Derek and Barbara // with kindest regards”.

Publisher’s brown cloth with gilt and black decoration to the front and spine panels. In the striking wraparound dust jacket designed by Martin White. With illustrations and diagrams by Alfred Wainwright. A very good or better copy, the cloth clean and bright, the spine perhaps a trifle wrinkled but the binding tight and square, the contents fine throughout with one or two very negligible marks to bottom edge. The dust jacket unclipped (£4.50 net) and complete without tears or loss, the spine panel lightly faded and the corners very mildly bumped. A sharp copy overall.
