BISSET, Bill. Vancouver Mainland Ice and Cold Storage
BISSET, Bill. Vancouver Mainland Ice and Cold Storage. London: Writers Forum. 1973. Folded paper stapled wraps. First edition, and only, of this wild, hallucinogenic poetry collection which pushes experimental typography and orthographic content to the very edge. Bissett is a Canadian poet who founded blewointmentpress, a small press focusing on often outsider Canadian poets. Following a head injury from an accident, he was pushed to financial hardship and sold the press, but has over the course of his life received incredible merit from Jack Kerouac, Leonard Cohen, Margaret Atwood, and many more figures in North American verse. This copy scarce, and often not listed in his bibliographies—probably due to it being produced not in his native Canada, but by Bob Cobbing of the London Writers Forum. A near fine copy, a few light handling marks to the front cover.
