FAULKNER, William. These Thirteen: Stories. London: Chatto & Windus. 1933. 8vo. First British edition. Publisher's blue cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in the cream dust jacket with green and black titles. A very good copy overall, the cloth clean, the binding tight and very gently rolled. The dark blue topstain bright, the bottom edge untrimmed. A little gentle pulling of the headband, but quite negligible. The contents for the most part fine, with some faint and patchy offsetting to the endpapers and very faint foxing to prelims. The dust jacket unclipped (7s 6d net) and a little grubby to all panels, the corners and spine head and tail with some small nicks and chips, rubbing along the joints, but a handsome copy.

The first collection of short stories by Faulkner, gathering thirteen stories set in Mississippi. The British first rather more scarce than its US counterpart published two years previous.
