NABOKOV, Vladimir. Nabokov's Dozen
NABOKOV, Vladimir. Nabokov's Dozen. London: Heinemann. 1959. 8vo. First British edition. Publisher's blue cloth lettered in gilt to the spine, in the dust jacket by Sheila Perry. A near fine copy, the cloth clean and bright, just a trifle discoloured at spine extremities, the binding tight and just narrowly rolled. Top edge spotted, else fine, the contents fine. The dust jacket unclipped (15s net) and complete, a couple of tiny bumps to spine head but fine.
Nabokov's collection of thirteen stories, most of which were previously published in US magazines, nine of which appeared in the US edition of the volume published a year earlier. Perhaps the most notable inclusions here are his much-anthologised first short story, Spring in Fialta, and one of the author's own favourites, First Love.
