The Receipt Book of Elizabeth Raper with portions of her Cipher Journal. Edited by her great-grandson Bartle Grant with a portrait and decorations by Duncan Grant. Written 1756-1770 and never before printed. 1924. The Nonesuch Press. One of a limited edition of 850 copies, this #33. Blue cloth with all edges untrimmed, in the scarce original dust jacket. A terrific copy, about fine in very good dust jacket, a couple of tiny closed tears, minor rubbing at corners and tips with some light discolouration to spine panel and edges of other panels, but scarce in this condition. Blue cloth clean and sharp, the spine panel perhaps just a trifle faded. Binding tight and square. Internally clean, about fine but for some very light offsetting and a few marks to endpapers. A lovely example.
